The Tigers improved their record to 8-1 as they defeated the Bloods 43-40.
Katamatite remains a game clear on top of the table, while the Bloods sit a win outside the eight.
Deniliquin Rovers triumphed against Picola United 37-30.
The Rovers currently sit in the top four with six wins, but are only half a game ahead of their opponents, who sit in seventh, something Rovers coach Britt Kirby said was front of mind.
“I said to the girls midweek that it looks like it's going to come down to percentage coming into finals,” Kirby said.
“Teams are losing to some or winning against others and I like that the competition is quite tight — it's a bit different from previous years.
“Anyone on a given day can win games, so you have to be on top of it.”
Kirby was pleased with two of her younger players who gave their all.
“We had a couple of juniors on the court, Abbey Wills and Sienna Jenkins, who fought it out to the end,” Kirby said.
“Abbey was in goal shooter and stood up well against some bigger bodies and Sienna, in wing attack, is only tiny, but she used her speed well.”
Waaia was too good for Mathoura, winning 53-26.
The victory has the Bombers sit in third spot, equal on points with the in-form Katunga, while the Timbercutters hold down 11th spot with two wins and a draw.
The Swans continued on their merry way, defeating Jerilderie by 14 goals (47-33), with Aimee Sidebottom shooting 21 goals.
Hayley McDonald and Zoe Ludington were key players in the victory.
After that result, the Swans are in second place, while the Demons are sixth.
Strathmerton dominated Blighty to win 60-28.
The reigning champion sits in fifth spot with six wins and two losses.
Blighty has one win for the season and is in second last place on the table.
Tungamah were a class above Berrigan, saluting 58-23.
The Bears sit in eighth position with four wins, but have games in hand due to last week's postponed clash with Yarroweyah and having already had a bye.
On the other hand, Berrigan is languishing in 12th position.
Rennie kept Yarroweyah winless and picked up victory number two for itself after finishing 37-31 in front at the final whistle.
Despite sitting in 13th, Rennie is one win plus percentage from ninth spot.
Yarroweyah is currently in prime position for the wooden spoon.
