Following her strong first season in the under-18s side as a bottom age player, Jerrah was able to earn her list spot back for this year.
It is her second successive year playing in the league against some of the best female footballers.
Preseason kicked off in November, and announcements for the Bushrangers squad were made in February.
Jerrah has been down to the hub in Shepparton for trainings and trials with the Bushies, putting in plenty of hard work.
“We have travelled down to the hub for trainings, trials and testing days,” her mum Kylee said.
“The girls have a game a fortnight or so against the Bendigo Pioneers, who they will then play in round one.”
When she’s not playing with the Bushies, Jerrah is affiliated with the Barooga women’s AFL side.
Jerrah started her football career with the Deni Rovers in the Picola & District League, which does not yet provide opportunities for women to play football beyond fourths.
The Murray Bushrangers Coates Talent League teams jumper presentations were held on February 21, with families in attendance to support players.
There are 40 female players in the squad.
Last season, Jerrah played seven games with the Bushrangers as a bottom age player.
She was also involved in another 13 games with her home club, Echuca United, in the under-18s last year. The side won the 2024 grand final.
Across those 13 games, Jerrah was named in the best 11 times and kicked 42 goals, going at just over three a game.
If Jerrah can keep up the momentum, she could be eligible for the AFLW national draft at the end of the year.
“Jerrah has seen a number of her teammates get selected or picked up in the draft, so seeing that, I think, has helped her to strive for it,” Kylee said.
“It is her draft year, but we may look at having an over age year in the Coates Talent League.
“I think she is a good chance of playing round one (this year).
“I know she has been working really hard, doing boxing with dad and running on top of her training, so she has been working really hard.”
