The Hoppers had a chance to take a strong lead in their match against Tocumwal early, but, unfortunately all forward forays turned into points.
Though the teenagers in defence of Ridley and Dwyer battled hard, Toc had a 4 point lead at the first break.
The swirly and difficult conditions continued in term 2 but Strawhorn was able to twice get on the scoreboard as Welsh and Cope were providing drive, but the locals kicked 5 quick goals to grab the ascendancy and a 3 goal lead.
With the loss of 2 quality players by halfway through term 3, the Hoppers began to struggle to control the ball whereas the Bloods had a quality target who ended the day with 9 goals being the real difference between the 2 sides.
Freeman went on ball and battled valiantly and Cooke was reliable in defence but Toc were able to run away with a 44 point victory.
Strawhorn ended up with 4 goals for Rennie who were best served by Dwyer, Freeman and Cooke.
Great to see Lach Burrows in his first senior game get some quality touches in the second half.

A Grade
Tocumwal 36 def Rennie 26
On a blustery, freezing day the girls just couldn't find their groove. Brylee read the play well and was able to create a few opportunities but the Hoppers just weren't able to convert.
Hannah Shoppee and Eliana Martin were standouts working tirelessly in defence .
Nevertheless the girls didn't drop their heads and didn't react to some physical defence.
We learn more from losses more than wins and Saturday gave some valuable lessons that the girls will take to training.
Another bye this weekend is difficult for Rennie as it doesn't help with their game flow, but again, they have learnt this and will change the way they train coming out even more aware and ready for top of the ladder Katamatite.
Awards: RNC Incentive - Hannah Shoppee, Mulwala Bakery - Brylee McCarty, One Zach - Eliana Martin, Yarrawonga Hotel - Heleena Shaw and Judd's Yarrawonga - Laynee Rhodes.
B Grade
Tocumwal 45 def Rennie 29.
After a stella training on Thursday night, the spirits of the Hopper’s B Grade girls was high.
Coming into the first quarter, the Hoppers saw strong defensive pressure by Ella Goldsmith with an excellent 3 feet, and rebounds galore.
Throughout the second quarter, the Hopper girls lost a little bit of momentum which caused Tocumwal to catch up. This didn’t stop Georgia Phillips and Celine Collins Bye from working hard to secure the ball through intercepts and helping to feed the ball down the court and into the ring.
Ebony Williams worked hard all game with tough defenders, to work the ball into the ring and following through with goals.
Georgia Hope stepped up for the game this week, after coming back from a slight injury, she showed that power and smarts can beat any quick opponent when done right.
The game slowly fizzled out for the Hoppers, however they never dropped their heads; they kept trying and their team spirit prevailed.
One more game to go, to show how far the girls have come and what they’ve got left in the tank.
Awards: RNC Incentive - Ella Goldsmith, Mulwala Bakery - Ebony Williams, Yarrawonga Hotel - Celine Collins Bye, Miss Dolly - Georgia Phillips and Free as a Bird - Georgia Hope.

It was a wild windy day out on the court on Saturday when the Hoppers went up against the Tocumwal Bloods.
A big thanks to Lucy Bassett for once again benching for the girls.
A huge congratulations to C Grade’s very own Rach Guppy for playing her 150th game for the Rennie Hoppers, what a great achievement!
The girls fought hard all game with Georgia, Meg, Lucy, and Haylee working well in the centre to clear congested space and move the ball with ease down the court into the attacking third.
Sarah C, Leila, and Taya worked hard in the goal ring to create space and fought hard to keep their rebounds.
It was a tough defensive game this week but Rach, Gaby, Sarah, and Georgie continued to communicate well and place pressure on the opposing goalers who unfortunately did not miss often.
Awards: Mulwala Bakery - Taya Davey, Yarrawonga Bakery - Rach Guppy, ClubMulwala - Leila Sanderson, Yarrawonga Hotel - Sarah Cummins and Showcase Jewellers - Gaby Dowling.

Frosty the Snowman kindly greeted the C Ressie legends as they hopped on through the gate for Tocumwal's Winter Wonderland.
Weather conditions were far less than ideal, with the entire team wishing they’d joined Bourke Dogga for a Euro summer.
The C Ressie legends were ready to bring some heat to Tocumwal and shake up the second-seeded Bloods.
The defensive end was a blaze of glory all game, making life incredibly difficult for the ever-accurate Bloods attack.
Jae 'Fruit Picker' Lonergan was fantastic all game, picking off anything she could get her hands on.
Britta was having a blinder of a game swinging from defence to attack, giving the Bloods the shock of their life, proving that she could do it all.
Lauren, Alysse and Edos Speedos were sensational in the mid-court, moving the ball beautifully across the entire court like a well-rehearsed dance routine.
The favourite holiday player was back again this week to lend a much-appreciated hand. It was a sight for sore eyes seeing the McBurnie defence combo added.
With Shez ‘Ricky D’s’ McBurnie and young gun Mykie putting on one hell of a show for the crowd.
The C Res are almost certain it’s something the people would love to see again.
Trucker Long enjoyed herself with a stint in almost every area of the court but had a field day in defence, assisting beautifully with Jae’s fruit-picking service and driving the ball as quickly and as cleanly as possible into attack.
Illa was ready and raring to take any picked fruit and deliver it to the sewing club. Ensuring to not lose track of the forbidden turnover which the Hoppers gained.
Tegan, Britta and Shez were moving the ball like fine craftsmanship in the ring. Making slotting goals look like easy work, even though the wind was determined to blow every second shot away.
The Winter Wonderland battle was a hard-fought one with the ‘W’ slipping just out of the C Ressie legends grips.
Rennie were grateful to see Frosty in the rearview mirror, and hopped on home to the heater.
The girls now head into the bye week before the final hurrah at Tigerland, where C Res aspire to dethrone the King of the Jungle.
Awards: Mulwala Bakery - Brittany Thomas, North East Campers - Trudie Long, Yarrawonga Hotel - Illa Crawford, Jaycee's - Eden Mackinnon and Terry White Chemmart - Alysse Kaiserseder.

As the winds blew in from Antarctica, the Rennie 17s donned their dresses to take on the Bloods.
After taking a few minutes to adjust to the cold and a few wayward passes the Hopperettes soon settled into their rhythm.
With Toc applying pressure forcing the Hopperettes to drive harder, faster and ensure strong precise passes - so the wind didn’t blow the ball to the other side of Aus.
The girls found their voices with encouragement and praise heard from both on and off the court.
The flow down the court was easy to see, snatching in loose balls, chasing runaways and the defensive pressure across the whole court resulted in turnovers with the Hopper attackers rewarding the efforts by converting the goal.
The bye this coming week gives the girls a chance to rest their legs to come back to tame the Tigers from Katy.

In a match that was expected to be close, Rennie was able to inflict early pain on the Bloods, jumping to an early 6-0 lead.
Charlotte, Jasi and Sienna all proved why you don’t want to be defending any of them. All three girls worked exceptionally well together, they also shot some incredible goals. It was good to have one of the captains, Mia back from her holiday; it was like she had never left.
Mia, Michelle, Layl and Ruby brought the ball up the court beautifully as well as encouraging the shooters and giving the defenders direction in the ring.
Samantha, Kate and Tess created lots of defensive pressure and turnovers. With the weather conditions not being great lots of balls were dropped and defenders definitely used that to their advantage.
The best on this week was Jasi and it was great to have her back to perfect health after being sick for a couple weeks. Jasi is an incredibly accurate shooter and gets all the rebounds.
Her hard work and practice throughout the year has definitely paid off. The whole team played amazing and were rewarded with a great win.

It was probably the coldest day we’ve had so far this season and the Hoppers were ready to take on Tocumwal at their home ground.
It was always going to be a tight game when it was 2nd vs 3rd and it didn’t disappoint. After a slowish start the girls warmed up and into their positions well.
It was the ‘winning’ 3rd quarter holding Toc to scoring only 1 goal for the term that saw the Hoppers up with only a goal difference at 3/4 time.
The switch of goalies and bringing on fresh legs throughout the game allowed Rennie to hold the 1 goal lead to win 20-19.
The Rennie girls should be extremely proud of how they handled themselves both on and off the court and their positivity and teamwork were which got them the win!
Well done girls.
