The club’s first pre-season training was held on Thursday, and was an open training for new potential players to see what the club has to offer.
This will continue for the next two trainings, on March 27 and April 3, with anyone welcome to join in on the session.
“It is just our regular training, but it's open to everyone to come and have a try,” club secretary Bec Webb said.
“You don't have to lock yourself in."
That’s ahead of the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association season beginning on April 26.
Although final draws and grades haven’t yet been announced, Echuca Moama hopes to enter competition with at least two junior sides, and one each of men’s and women’s sides, with more possible based on numbers.
EMHC is also exploring the possibility of taking part in the Regional Hockey League, which sees teams from the Goulburn Valley competing with sides from Bendigo and districts.

Under-10 potential hockey stars have been taking part in the Hookin2Hockey program on Thursday afternoons over the past several weeks, and the club is looking to continue to provide pathways for them once the program concludes on May 8.
“We have in the works at the moment a development program for kids under 10 once (Hookin2Hockey) finishes,” Webb said.
“So that's an exciting opportunity happening in the background which we will announce once we figure out the details.”
The proposed program will look to run in Term 2 of the school year.
Stay tuned to the Echuca Moama Hockey Club Facebook page for information on grades and draws once they become available.
The club’s open ‘come-and-try’ training sessions, on March 27 and April 3, start at 5pm for juniors and 6pm for seniors.
