The Bulldogs lit up Deakin Reserve in the final quarter of the Goulburn Valley League A-grade encounter to record a breath-taking 44-39 win.
After trailing by two goals at the last break, Tatura piled on 13-6 in a gripping final term affair.
The five-goal triumph positions Tatura one win behind the Bears in sixth spot after seven rounds of action.
Bulldogs coach Georgia Ryan was rapt with not only the four points, but the way her side was able to play out the game.
“It was a very nice outcome,” Ryan said.
“I was impressed with the way we were able to play as a group. And the fact we stuck it out for four quarters and backed ourselves in the whole match.
“Also our overall attitude, staying calm and collected probably helped get us over the line.”
Tatura began the match in lightning fashion.
The visitors led at the first break by four goals, until the Bears were able to chip away at the margin in the second term.
Down by a single goal at the main break, Shepparton willed its way to the lead through attacking option Hannah Crawley.
Midcourters Erin Scott and Jacinta Todd also played pivotal roles in the fightback.
Ryan revealed what her message was to the group at the three-quarter time break.
“My message was ‘let's not put pressure on ourselves’ because we weren't under any (pressure),” she said.
“And another thing was to just focus on themselves and they did that. There was no weak link in the team, it was a great all-round performance.”
However, it was 16-year-old Boyer who stood above the rest.
Boyer starred through the midcourt, while Ryan's sister Laura was calm-headed and in control on the court.
“Elsie was unbelievable. Nobody could stop her,” Ryan said.
“She has taken her game to another level. Her exposure in VNL and state squads has really aided her development and it's great to see her get reward for her hard work.”
