The Orangemen’s track record at McEwen Reserve sits at 2-2 and standing in the way of the Suns etching their third home victory on the board is Caroline George Springs Cross.
Form may be on the hosts’ side, but Springs Cross has been tagged as this season’s giant beater.
The visitors became the first side in the competition to take points off top dog Melbourne Victory Youth the previous round, also handing second-ranked North Sunshine Eagles their only loss of the season.
Suns coach Craig Carley slid complacency aside for the clash, anticipating anything but an easy fixture tomorrow.
“It's going to be a good footballing game, again, they’re a high profile club with a very big budget and they picked up a really good result against Melbourne Victory on the weekend,” he said.
“They’re trying to find their feet in NPL football and it’s going to be a tough encounter.
“It’s going to be a bit of a battle, but I think they’ll come to Shepparton to play football.”
Executing their brand of football has been a key focus all season for the Suns, as the side looks to edge closer to a promotion spot.
Carley remains confident his charges are hard to match at their best and he hopes for another vintage display when his side emerges from the cages at McEwen.
“I honestly think that every single team we’ve played against, we’ve been the best footballing side,” he said.
“I haven’t seen an opposition that can outplay us, it’s just moments in games.
“The two games that we did lose, it was just key moments (which cost us), it wasn’t the fact that other team are better than us.
“If we can continue playing our style of football, we will certainly win more games than we will lose.”
• A Division One Women’s epic is set to transpire at Epsom Huntly when third-ranked Shepparton United goes toe-to-toe with ladder leader Colts in Bendigo Amateur Soccer League.
John-Claude Giuca’s side is brimming with confidence following a 6-1 drubbing of its rival Shepparton South, with a win drawing United closer to the table’s top.
Meanwhile, the Southerners eye off their first win up against Strathdale and unbeaten Tatura looks to keep its streak alive when facing Spring Gully.
Tatura’s Division One Men’s side has an opportunity to remedy its round three loss to Epsom, away at Stanley Avenue Reserve to Spring Gully.
The Ibises sit level on points, but ahead on goal difference, and will be eager to make a statement in the six-pointer.
Elsewhere, Shepparton United hits the road to take on bottom-of-the-ladder Colts, while Shepparton South locks horns with Strathdale.
Division Two Men’s action has Shepparton head west to Deniliquin to face the Wanderers, while Shepparton Jaguars assume the bye.
