The Cats have been amassing a horde of talented juniors over the past few seasons — and with a couple of additions at the top level are ready to make the jump from competitors to challengers.
“We're looking to have an exciting season, there's lots of players progressing nicely at the club,” coach Di Hanslow said.
“It's exciting to have Maddie Wong back this year, she's one of the most talented defenders in the league and her and Ash Lancaster always cause plenty of grief for the opposition.
“We're expecting Ash back midway through the season after having a child.
“We've also bolstered our midcourt with Bree Hanslow coming across, she brings lots of experience for the likes of Georgia Gattuso, Shelby Britten and Paigan Impey to learn from.”
As well as being strong on the A-grade front, the Cats have focused on having depth across the grades to help further their pursuit for success.
With a trio of young stars splitting their time between Mooroopna Recreation Reserve and the Victorian Netball League it also gives Hanslow's charges plenty of room to grow even more this season.
“Dayna Williams is one of the best juniors in the league, she's signed with Melbourne Uni.,” Hanslow said.
“It's exciting to see how far she can take her netball this season. Taylah Lloyd (North East Blaze) and Jazmin Clark (Geelong Cougars) have also earned VNL squad spots.
“There's young talent pushing to come through the grades, which is exciting for the club.
“We're still going to be a young side, but everyone is working really hard.
“There's lots of positive feeling around the club. We're a club that's in the process of building, and hopefully before too long we can be held in the same regard as the top teams.”
