Some of Country Victoria’s best young footballers have been battling it out in the V/Line Cup this week.

Teams from around country Victoria descended on Shepparton for the tournament, with Barwon, Bendigo, Gippsland, Goulburn Murray, Greater Western Victoria, North East Border and South East all set to battle it out for victory.
There were some big scores kicked on day one of competition, with the GWV Rebels 10.11 (71) defeating Gippsland 8.7 (53) in the division one boys’ competition.
In the other top tier boys’ clash, Goulburn Murray 12.4 (76) downed South East 8.4 (52).
In the division two boys’ competition, South East 14.17 (101) smashed Goulburn Murray 2.2 (14) and the GWV Rebels 11.15 (81) beat Gippsland 11.5 (71).
The girls’ results were lopsided on day one, with the GWV Rebels, 6.14 (50), defeating Gippsland, 1.3 (9), and South East, 15.8 (98), putting on a clinic against Goulburn Murray 0.0 (0).
With games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, there is still plenty of entertaining competitive football to be played.
