On Friday afternoon, two section one matches ran near opposite courses as ladder-leader Shepparton North dominated Central Park before McEwen Reserve Red defeated Lemnos in a thriller.
As sunshine soaked the courts at Shepparton North, the home side got off to a bright start winning the first four sets by three or more games.
Central Park’s Elizabeth Butcher and Janelle Pottenger got their side on the board during the sixth rubber, winning the set 4-6.
However, Shepparton North quickly regained control and claimed the final three rubbers, again, by three or more games.
Having won the match 8-52 to 1-28, Shepparton North now sits four points clear on top of the ladder.
Across town at McEwen Reserve, Red and Lemnos battled it out with steely determination.
Six sets in and the scores were tied at three apiece before the home side gained the upper hand in the final three rubbers.
Red won 5-39 to 4-34 and moved to third place on the ladder, while Lemnos remains at the bottom.
On Saturday afternoon Karramomus defeated McEwen Reserve Gold in convincing fashion to finish round four in section one.
The home side won the match 7-49 to 2-33.
Karramomus now sits second on the ladder, while McEwen Reserve Gold is fifth.
