Australian cricket legend Glenn McGrath attended the Pacing for Pink Day — which is now into its 10th year.

The fundraiser was started by a group of local women in the trots fraternity and is headed by Cobram’s Marg Watson.

The first nine years were hosted by Cobram Harness Racing Club before a switch to Shepparton last year.

Before the latest event at the weekend, the group had raised a total of nearly $130,000 for breast cancer awareness.
Shepparton Harness Racing Club racing and operations manager Ian McDonald said the Pacing for Pink Day was a roaring success.

“It was an amazing experience for everyone who went,” he said.
“The day exceeded all expectations. Glenn interacted and gave time to everyone who went up to him. He was phenomenal.
“I know Glenn and the McGrath Foundation were blown away by how big the event was.
“I’m not sure exactly of the figure yet but I know they would have raised a huge amount for the foundation.
“The size of the crowd was fantastic, it was an incredible day.”
