Amani Issell was the star for the home side with a stunning return of 5-8 from her two overs.

It was the second win over Echuca ― the first against Echuca Green ― in consecutive weeks for the impressive Cats.

Mooroopna won the toss and elected to bat in the round three encounter and got off to a brilliant start thanks to opening pair Gemma Boyd (33 retired not out) and Ebony Sleeth (20 runs).

The duo put on 56 runs for the opening stand which gave the hosts the perfect platform for the remainder of the innings.

Some late hitting from Lauren Hall, who top-scored with a classy 34 not out, lifted Mooroopna to 5-143 from its 20 overs.

Poppy Vandermeer struck first and Echuca was left 1-8, before Issell pounced with the next three scalps which left the visitor in disarray at 5-16.

Echuca tried to rally a late charge, however, Mooroopna was too strong on the day and restricted the reigning premier to 9-68 from 20 overs.

The Cats now sit second on the ladder behind Shepparton United.

In other matches, Shepparton United held on for a nervous 15-run victory over Cooma.

United struggled to string partnerships together after electing to bat first and reached 73 runs from 15.5 overs.

Nikki Heffer (2-7), Allana Adams (2-8) and Amber Devereux (2-8) were the standouts for Cooma with ball in hand.

Spurred on by the poor showing with the bat, United ― last year’s grand finalist ― flexed its muscles and restricted Cooma to 6-58 from 20 overs.

Mel Saunders (2-9) and Thushali Premarathna (2-9) collected multiple wickets for the visitor.

Nagambie remains unbeaten following a six-wicket win over Rochester.

The Lakers’ Kait Carracher was the standout for the home side as it chased down Rochester’s total of 5-74.

Carracher piled on a classy 48 runs off 29 deliveries, which consisted eight boundaries and two sixes.

Lastly, Katamatite defeated Nathalia by nine wickets thanks to a superb 31 not out from Katrina Chapman.

Kyabram ran out to an eight-wicket victory, with Holly Nelson (20 retired not out) and Eliza Linehan (17 not out) the stars for the Redbacks.
