Shepparton played host to a cross-country clash last Wednesday as Goulburn Murray Division One boys battled Bendigo Pioneers in its second and final game.

Goulburn Murray would take the chocolates and rebound strongly from a Monday defeat to South East, with the home side registering a 9.7 (61) to 7.6 (48) win.

The game, along with the V/Line Cup more broadly, provided a significant opportunity for the cream of the under-15 football crop to showcase their skills with Coates Talent League intakes on the horizon.

The game would mark the official conclusion of the boys’ tournament, with only these two teams active on the final day of action.
