In division one, Numurkah Warriors flexed their muscles against Shepparton Lawn The Valley and registered a 9-85 to 3-64 win.
The men's singles began with a bang with Jack Bassett and Matt Carroll facing off in the first rubber with the former emerging victorious with a score of 8-7.
The Valley responded in the next with an 8-4 win thanks to Matt Crittenden, but that’s where the fun ended with the Warriors running rampant.
The Tigers walked away with a victory thanks to their wins in the final two doubles rubbers of the day — which they won 8-2 and 8-5.
Shepparton Lawn’s Nick Gattuso was a standout and walked away with two rubber wins from three attempts.
Elsewhere, Kyabram-Echuca was a convincing winner over Shepparton Lawn Tropics and pulled away to clinch a 9-86 to 3-59 triumph.
In division two, News photographer Megan Fisher attended Kialla Park-Old Students’ comfortable win over Mooroopna.
The merged entity blitzed its opponent and chalked up an 11-80 to 0-25 win.
Club captain Mike Schulz said the combined outfit, which fields sides in GMLTA and Shepparton District Tennis Association, was enjoying a memorable campaign on top of the division two ladder.
“The club combined with Old Students before the start of the season and it’s reinvigorated everything from the social side and on-court side of things too,” he said.
“We’re having a good season and hopefully it can continue.”
