In the under-16 division, the home side took on Goulburn Murray at Kialla Park Recreation Reserve, with superb bowling — and batting — getting Shepparton across the line.
There were six different wicket-takers for the winning side, with Samuel O’Brien’s 3-19 and Oscar Lambourn’s 2-10 standing out.
While its opponent managed to post an impressive score of 9-149, a strong chase headlined by an Ashton Young 79 got Shepparton over the line in convincing fashion.
Joining the under-16 boys on the winners’ list was the under-17 girls, with a last-gasp victory providing plenty of drama.
Bowling Goulburn Murray out for 86 thanks to the bowling performances of Tamsyn Hutchins (3-1), Bella Woods (2-7) and Mia Earl (2-8), Shepparton was cruising to victory at Cooma, however, it was soon in trouble.
Losing five wickets for 17 runs, the side was in danger of suffering defeat, but managed to chase the total down with one wicket remaining.
Like the under-17 girls, Shepparton’s under-15 boys got over the line thanks to a superb performance with the ball.
Posting a total of 93 at Nathalia, Shepparton had to bowl well to take down Murray Valley Cricket Association — and that’s exactly what it did.
A Walter Jackson masterclass (4-7) along with strong bowling from Leo Murphy (3-12) helped the side secure a positive result.
Like their under-15 counterparts, Cricket Shepparton’s under-14 boys secured a win thanks to a captain’s knock of 52 from Bayden Hutchins
Meanwhile in the younger age groups, Shepparton’s under-13A side suffered a 23-run loss to Bendigo, while the under-13B side suffered a similar fate, falling to Bendigo by 27.
Shepparton’s other under-13B side flipped the script for the youngsters, with a convincing win over Murray Valley.
Headlined by the performances of Jackson Crouch 3-10, Usman Hassan 2-3 and captain Tait Buckland 2-3 the young Shepparton side was too strong.
