The return of club bowls last week has fed into a Tuesday round of midweek pennant with gigantic implications.

The Goulburn Valley Playing Area Edna Harling Shield embarked on a fascinating slate of fixtures Tuesday morning, with places up and down the table set to move and shake on a whim in round 11.

While leading side Tallygaroopna tangled with fellow podium outfit Kyabram, fourth and fifth had just as much — if not more — to play for as Shepparton Golf and Seymour collided.

The Redlegs held firm in a thriller to overcome the Bombers 14-66 to 2-63, maintaining a precious grasp on top spot, but simultaneously jumbling up the race for the lower finals places.

Seymour wound up losing critical ground on the top four after the Golfers took the chocolates in a cruisy 14-79 to 2-46 win, perhaps allowing Kyabram a sigh of relief in the process.

Shepparton Park did its job to maintain touch with top spot courtesy of a tight 13-65 to 3-61 victory over Euroa, while Tatura-Hill Top moved out of the bottom two after keeping East Shepparton rooted to the bottom with a 14-60 to 2-47 result.
