Benalla Bowls Club hosted the inaugural The Rose Bowls Open Pairs on Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8.

We received entries from 42 teams who played three games of 2x2x2x2 of 12 ends on Saturday and two games of the same on Sunday to set up the quarter finals.
Following lunch on Sunday six ends of the same format started followed by the semi-finals and finals.
The weather was perfect and the play was exceptional.

Winner winner: Open pairs winners K Booker (Deer Park) and N Vlahovic (Brighton).
The winners of the event were N Vlahovic (Brighton) and K Booker (Deer Park), the runners-up were D Sidebottom and W Henderson (Tungamah) and the semi-finalists were S Armistead (Frankston) and W Armistead (Swanpool) and S McMahon (Rutherglen) and K Pugh (Tallygaroopna).
Entries were received from Melbourne, country Victoria and NSW. A huge thank you to all volunteers who helped with this event, the umpires and the bowlers who substituted when asked.
