The first race of the day went the way of two-year old pacer Jarrad Said and driver James Herbertson, who provided trainer Steven Duffy with an early Christmas present.
The feature event of the meeting was the time-honoured Peter Rathjen Memorial, named in honour of one of the Goulburn Valley’s keenest harness racing enthusiasts who lived well into his 90s.
The man of the moment — Santa Claus — was alleged to have made an appearance for the club’s final meet of 2021.
