The first match was between Chelsea and Arsenal.
The game started as a low scoring affair, with neither team being able to get past each other’s keepers.
That was until Chelsea’s Mark Plant opened the scoring, opeining the flood gates.
By half-time, Chelsea held a 7-1 lead.
A late comeback, spurred on by Ben Butcher and Bruce Maunganidze, saw Arsenal find the back of the net six times in the second half.
Alas they were thwarted by some unconventional goal keeping by Matt Crothers.
Two more brilliant goals by Plant, with a single touch from the keeper’s throw in, was enough to secure the victory.
Final score: Chelsea 9 def Arsenal 7.
Tottenham and Newcastle played the second match, and the game started very close with both sides going goal-for-goal.
Masen Brain opened the scoring but was ultimately denied a goal due to an ‘illegal’ ruling.
This allowed Bella Gow to capitalise on a break away attack and score immediately at the other end.
The half-time score was 3-2 to Tottenham.
Teamwork between Hawie Asfha and Brain in the second half blew out the score, despite Ben Currie’s best efforts.
A goal for Newcastle was snuck in on a very tight angle from the corner.
Final score: Tottenham 15 def Newcastle 5.
