The championships will be held next month at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre from April 10 to 18.
The 14-year-old rising star has earned his place among Australia’s best young swimmers, achieving four individual qualifying times by the end of 2024.
Fraser will be racing in the Boys 14 Years 50m Backstroke and Freestyle, as well as the Boys 14 Years 100m Backstroke and Freestyle.
This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the strong support from his family and club.
Having been a member of the Yarrawonga/Mulwala Swimming Club for six years, Fraser’s journey in competitive swimming has been marked by persistence and passion.
In January 2025, he took a significant step forward in his swimming career by moving to St Peters Lutheran College in Indooroopilly [Brisbane] as a boarder.
This transition also saw him join the prestigious St Peters Western Swimming Club, where he now trains in the National Age Squad under the guidance of coach Jacob Hansford.
The National Age Squad at St Peters Western is known for producing well-trained and competitive athletes who strive to reach their full potential at both state and national levels.
The rigorous training program focuses on refining technique, enhancing endurance, and developing racing strategies.
As a result Fraser’s training volume has significantly increased since his days with the Yarrawonga/Mulwala Swimming Club, and he now participates in two strength and conditioning sessions each week to build full-body strength and resilience.
Head Coach of the Yarrawonga/Mulwala Swimming Club Lyndon Hart praised Fraser’s dedication and development.
“Fraser’s hard work and perseverance have been evident throughout his time with our club,” Mr Hart said.
“We congratulate him on his achievements and look forward to seeing his progress in the years to come.”
With the Australian Age Championships just around the corner, Fraser is set to showcase his talent on a national stage.
His journey highlights the power of dedication, structured training, and a strong support network in reaching new heights in competitive swimming.
The local community and his former club will be cheering Fraser on as he takes on this exciting challenge.
