Final round for Drovers

The Southern Inland Rugby Union home and away season will come to a close tomorrow, but not before Deniliquin has its chance to take on Albury-Wodonga for the second time.

When the sides last met in Deniliquin in May, the Drovers came out 35-21 winners.

This time they do battle on the Steamers’ home ground at Murray Field Oval.

The Drovers are coming off a crushing defeat at the hands of Wagga City at the weekend, going down 15-75.

Albury-Wodonga also had a tough weekend against the Tumut Bulls, who took the round 89-7.

While they head into the match on equal footing in that respect, Deniliquin has shown itself to be the stronger side this season.

The Drovers are fifth on the league ladder with 29 points - 10 behind fourth placed Tumut - while Albury-Wodonga are seventh with only 14 points for the season.
