Not only does ski school teach kids and adults how to water ski, it also provides an opportunity to meet new people, make friends and create memories.
There were a few exciting moments at ski school on Friday night, Inkie Leech and Lenny Hanns managed to successfully ski on doubles without the stabiliser training bar.
The training bar keeps the tips of the skis together to maintain control and adds stability while learning.
Both kids were quite wobbly starting off, but they quickly learnt to maintain their balance and take control, they kept their knees bent at all times, kept straight arms and maintained proper positioning by leaning back slightly.
Another small step on the path to being successful water skiers.
Well done to local Annie Hurst, and to Helene Wolf from Germany, on their first attempt at skiing on doubles behind the boat.
They were very exciting moments for both learners.
Helene is new to ski school, but saaid it was “the highlight of my week”.
Thank you to our consistent driver Leigh Holmberg and to his observer Brett Parker for manning ROLCO, the beginner boat.
Again, thank you to Andrew McBurnie who took control of the advanced boat GILFLITE and to his observers Lisa Priest and Debbie Jennings.
Lastly, ski school would like to congratulate former participants Ethan and Elka Connolly, who participated in the Victorian Wakeboard Competition at the weekend.
Both Ethan and Elka performed exceptionally well on the water, and brought home some prizes.
Keep an eye on the 'Deniliquin Boat Club' Facebook page for more regular updates and information.
