A first place guaranteed entry to the Little Athletics Victoria State Relay Championships at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne on December 16 and three teams qualified, including the mixed under-11 4x200m and the girls’ under-11 4x100m and 4x200m teams.
Eleven athletes have been training for more than a month on their baton changes to perfect the discipline.
Eight teams were entered by Echuca Moama Athletics in the 4x100m, 4x200m and medley (100m, 300m, 200m and 400m), and the group of talented athletes came home with seven medals and a fourth place.
Under-11 athletes were Jonty C, Oliver B, Ava S, Savannah D, Cleo H, Ruby C and Marcelle C. Under-13 athletes were Quinn D, Vihara K, Eve D and Mia S.
Results
Gold: under-11 mixed 4x200m. Silver: under-11 girls’ 4x200m. Bronze: under-11 girls’ medley, under-11 mixed 4x100m, under-13 girls’ 4x100m, 4x200m and medley.
