EFNC Golf Day to give back to members and community

Rich River Golf Club will host EFNC’s second annual charity golf day.

Echuca Football Netball Club is hosting its second annual golf day on Friday, with this year’s proceeds to support ovarian cancer management and research.

The event, held at Rich River Golf Club, will feature a four-person ambrose golf event as well as a buffet lunch and charity auction.

Wellbeing and mental health expert John Toomey will be the guest speaker at the event.

Money raised from entries and the auction will be shared between Echuca hospital and a trust supporting a club member currently battling cancer.

“What we’re trying to do is have a fun day and get more people involved in the club but also create awareness around a nominated charity and share the proceeds of the day,” EFNC president Justin Hatfield said.

Last year, the inaugural EFNC Golf Day raised around $20,000 for the Zoe Kennedy Foundation for asthma awareness and management.

AFL personality and former player Dylan Buckley spoke at the event.

The golf day comes before EFNC’s Ladies Day on Saturday, where the club will officially open the new women’s change-room facilities.
