Created in 2022, North-Vic Backyard Ultras were created to encourage people to push themselves to find their own potential and limits.
The format of the event is simple, do as many loops of the pre-designed course as you can, whether that be one, 10 or 100.
The Echuca event, named the 2 Rivers Backyard Ultra, will see participants run a 6706-meter course on May 17, 2025.
The course runs along the scenic drive trail following the Murray River before veering onto pavements and following beside the new bridge without crossing into NSW.
This is an out and back section that turns you around at the 'Blue Tree' before returning and tackling the 'hill' and returning into the event area from the opposite direction.
The event will have a ‘village’ area with marquees and tents will be set up to carry the good vibes into the evening and will provide a place to rest your head at the end of each lap and refuel for the next.
There will also be an aid station, camp kitchen and at least one food van at the event which will provide coffee, hot food and cold drinks.
Members of the Echuca Run Club have been conducting practice runs of the course in preparation for the event and will continue to train in the lead up.
All are welcome to join and are urged to visit Echuca Run Club’s Facebook page
