The leading side all year in the midweek pennant, it was no surprise to see Echuca make its way to the division one grand final after the Campaspe Playing Area semi-finals were held on Tuesday.

Moama gave the minor premier a contest at Rich River Bowls Club, remaining within striking distance throughout, but Echuca did enough to close out the contest 15-59 to 1-50 winners.

Ian Page skipped the largest win for Echuca, 21-16, narrowly ahead of teammate Kerryn Evans, who had a 20-16 victory.
The remaining rink, skipped by Echuca’s Roma Opie and Moama’s Robyn Thomassen ended tied 18-all.

Echuca will await the winner of Moama and Mathoura, after the latter ended Stanhope’s season 12-65 to 4-51.
Skip Troy Mansbridge kept Mathoura’s campaign alive with a huge 37-13 win alongside David Vallance (lead), and Helen (second) and Peter Holzer (third).

Stanhope skips Peter Myers and Jennifer Crilly earned wins for Stanhope in the other rinks, but their combined efforts weren’t enough to swing the overall score back towards their side.
In division two, Rich River was bundled out of the competition in convincing fashion by Deniliquin RSL, 16-76 to 0-46.

RSL skips Mary-Anne Spicer, Tony Tonta, and Linda Harris each scored strong victories as their side confidently progressed to a preliminary final clash with Echuca.
In a close-run battle, Moama was the side to progress in the qualifying semi, defeating Echuca 12-60 to 4-55.

A 26-13 victory to Kevin Connolly was enough to get the Steamers through, despite Echuca taking the other two rinks.
In division three, Elmore will need to regroup in the preliminary final after being downed by Moama, which advanced 14-53 to 0-30.
