Deniliquin’s croquet pennant team went into yesterday’s round of play second on the pennant ladder after a good win last week.

The pennant team travelled to Shepparton to play Euroa.
The team - consisting of Andy Davis, Peter Whittakers, Mary James and Brian Dudley - won by six hoops.
The team now has 58 pennant points to be second of 12 teams taking part.
They were playing Euroa again in Shepparton yesterday as the Pastoral Times went to print.
In Deniliquin Croquet Club action on Sunday, in overcast weather, 15 members turned up and managed to finish play before the rain came.
There were three individual three game winners.
First was Allan Tonta, second was Brian Dudley and third was Alan Higgins.
Players who managed to win two games were Andy Davis and Tony Bull.
Many jump shots were achieved. Andy Davis had two and Allan Tonta, Fred Littmann, Alan Higgins and Peter Whittakers all had one each.
Wednesday was a beautiful spring day, and 17 members played.
Among them were seven ladies - a record number for this year.
There were again three separate three game winners.
Coming first with equal scores were Doreen Peterson and Graeme Bradford.
Not a bad effort for Graeme, who will be 90 next year. Well done Graeme!
Andy Davis was also a three game winner.
Two game winners were Peter Whittakers and Mary James.
There were jump shots aplenty on Wednesday. Andy Davis had five, Leo Barry had four while Peter Whittakers, Brian Dudley and visitor Garry Brose scored one each.
