Cricket Victoria might have a grant opportunity for you.
Victorian cricket clubs, associations, schools and local governments can apply for a grant as part of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund.
60 projects were greenlit across the 2023-24 period, while over 150 projects have been funded over the past two seasons.
One of the recently funded grants was to embed a new synthetic cricket wicket at Invergordon Cricket Club.
Applications for the 2024-25 Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund close on March 23.
Grants fall into two categories; a minor Community Cricket Infrastructure Grant, which can receive up to $15,000, and a major Community Cricket Infrastructure Grant, which can receive between $15,001-$40,000.
Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins strongly backed the return of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund.
“Cricket Victoria continues to lead the way nationally with the volume of successful ACIF applications, and we aim for this to continue with the 2024-25 program,” Cummins said.
“From revitalised nets to a new lease on life for a pavilion, great facilities are essential for growing participation and can have a profound impact on a community club.”
Cricket Victoria local government and infrastructure manager Callum Dean made note of how important up-to-date facilities are in enhancing cricket participation.
“No matter the scale of upgrades, new and improved facilities are vital in keeping players engaged, encouraging growth and ensuring cricket remains an inclusive and accessible sport for all,” Dean said.
