A soaring unbeaten century from Jake Smith saw Euroa secure the chocolates during a round one romp in the Jim McGregor Shield.

Smith never looked like slowing down throughout his near three-hour stay at the crease, blasting 119 to steer his side to 7-212 in an innings which tormented Undera on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions had a torrid time chasing down Euroa’s monster total, eventually losing their 10th wicket for just 115.
However, if not for Smith’s heroics, perhaps Undera’s defeat would have been off the cards.
The Magpies first-drop had batting partners drop like flies around him, but conjured a knock akin to Steve Smith with 12 boundaries and two maximums.
Rick Heathcote was the pick of Undera’s bowling brigade with 3-21 and, when it came to turning it on with the bat, Russell Sheriff’s 34 was the only notable contribution during the loss.
Across at Kyabram High, Ross Brown came closest to matching Smith’s ton in a 59-run win against Numurkah.
Kyabram posted a colossal 238 with Brown going berserk, but the Redbacks’ blades-man fell excruciatingly short of a century when a ping at the stumps from Nicholas Hughes saw him exit for 98.
But with most of the legwork done, all Kyabram had to do was bowl stringently.
Executing that plan to a tee was Mason McDonald (4-32), who was a thorn in Numurkah’s side throughout the match.
Jordan O’Dwyer was in pink touch for the Blues, but even his run-a-ball 74 was not enough to get Numurkah to the points as it limped to 8-179 from the 40 overs.
Meanwhile, Mooroopna’s opening stand of 80 paved the way to a slim win over Pine Lodge.
Troy Brown (42) and Jordan Wiggins (36) set the platform for the Cats’ 9-167 finish, and the Lodgers couldn’t match pace as it ran out of steam to lose by 16 runs.
Sam Hayes (4-15) was the best with the ball for Pine Lodge.
Tatura left Vibert Reserve with six points secured after a hard-fought battle with Karramomus.
Sent into the middle first, the Bloods had flurries at either end of the order but lacked consistency in the heart of its innings to settle for 155.
The visitors then turned it on with the willow as Aidan Callegari and Jack Scholes entered the 30s to guide Tatura home with two wickets remaining.
Lachy Thurston also impressed for Tatura, spinning his way to 4-21.
Finally, Invergordon made it to 4-106 before rain cut its clash with Central Park short.
