On January 19, at Deakin Reserve, the region's cricket lovers will have the opportunity to watch the Haisman Shield’s best players team up and take on Bendigo District Cricket Association in a representative match.
The game is scheduled to start at 10.30am and will be a one-day format fixture.
Cricket Shepparton announced a 15-man squad for the match on Friday, with players selected from a wide variety of clubs.
Waaia and Nagambie both have three players featuring, while eight clubs in total have at least one representative in the squad.
Shepparton Youth Club United captain Sam Nash has once again made the side and said he couldn’t wait to represent the region in a couple of weeks.
“It feels good to get rewarded,” Nash said.
“Everyone in that 15-man squad deserves their spot and has played some good cricket throughout Cricket Shepparton over the past few years.
“We haven’t had that chance to play rep cricket (in a while).
“I played rep cricket a few years before COVID — a few Country Weeks — and they are good fun.
“It’s good being able to connect with blokes from other sides.
“This year when I went to England, a lot of blokes I met up with and did things with were blokes I did country week with for Cricket Shepparton.”
Central Park-St Brendan’s captain Tyler Larkin will lead the representative side, with Kyabram run-glutton Kyle Mueller as his right-hand man.
