The Corowa Sharks once again showcased their prowess at the O&M Pennant #6 hosted by the Yarrawonga/Mulwala Swimming Club at the Yarrawonga Outdoor Pool on Sunday.

The meet was filled with thrilling performances, personal bests (PBs), and heartwarming displays of sportsmanship.
Outstanding performances and personal bests (PBs)
Lucas Bellette: Achieved three PBs, including 50m Br (43.34), and took first place in the 100m Br (1:36.37) and second place in the 100m Bk (1:36.37).
Samuel Bellette: One PB in the 50m Fly (41.57), and first place finish in the 100m Br (1:37.31).
Olivia Clifton: Competed strongly in the 50m Br and clocked 1:01.33 in the 50m Fr.
Clementine Colwell: Achieved a PB in the 50m Bk (51.48) and secured fourth place in the 100m Fr (1:38.94).
Sophie Jones: Three PBs, including 50m Bk (46.92), 50m Br (57.95), and 50m Fr (42.49).
Wyatt Jones: Two PBs, 50m Bk (1:01.51) and 50m Fr (46.83).
Austin Lees: Two PBs, including 50m Bk (46.82), and secured second place in the 100m Br (1:56.07).
Marshall Lees: Two PBs, with standout times in the 50m Bk (42.08) and second place in the 100m Br (1:39.69).
Ethan Marks: Achieved three PBs, including 50m Fly (38.52) and 50m Fr (34.44).
Lucy Matthews: Competed in her very first pennant, clocking 55.90 in the 50m Bk and 50.00 in the 50m Fr.
Nicholas Murphy: One PB in the 50m Bk (51.44) and secured third place in the 100m Br (2:13.05).
Jayden Tainsh: Made an impressive debut with a third-place finish in the 100m Bk (3:22.21) and strong efforts in the 50m Bk (1:09.68).
Judd Talbot: Another promising debut, clocking 1:01.76 in the 50m Bk and 1:12.47 in the 50m Fr.
With exceptional sportsmanship and club spirit, the Sharks’ camaraderie was evident throughout the day, with loud cheers resonating from the stands for every swimmer.
The exceptional sportsmanship displayed between teammates and competitors alike exemplified the club’s values.
The swimmers demonstrated what it truly means to be part of the Corowa Sharks, making the club proud with their determination and positive attitude.
Recognising newest and junior members
A special mention goes to our newest and youngest swimmers, who participated in their very first pennant meets: Judd Talbot, Lucy Matthews, Olivia Clifton, and Jayden Tainsh.
Their enthusiasm and impressive performances marked a great start to their swim racing journeys. We can’t wait to see where their hard work and dedication will lead them.
Looking ahead
O&M Relay Pennant at Corowa Aquatic Centre the Sharks are now gearing up for the highly anticipated O&M Relay Pennant, set to take place on home turf at the Corowa Aquatic Centre on March 2, 2025.
With clubs from across the region coming together, it promises to be a spectacular day of competition. Expect cheers to echo all the way down Sanger Street as the Sharks take on their rivals.

Club Night Swimming Star (February 7) - Austin Lees - Throughout the season, Austin has demonstrated remarkable progress, shaving an impressive thirty-two seconds off his 200m Br time. His dedication and perseverance in training have truly paid off, earning him well-deserved recognition.
Swimmer of the Week (February 7) - Violet Kiely - a swimmer who embodies dedication and teamwork by showing consistent effort during training, encouraging fellow swimmers, excelling at competitive meets, mastering new techniques, displaying exemplary sportsmanship, and upholding the core values of our club: personal achievement, enjoyment, and belonging.
