Three weeks into October and what a fun, busy and action packed few weeks it has been for our club.

Last week, Wednesday golf went ahead despite overnight rain, with medley stableford and a small field.
The winner was Denise Boland 33, r/u Gina Simpson 33, Kerrie McLennan had 29 and Suz Graham 32.
The club’s second annual President’s Cup was hotly contested Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed by 60 golfers who travelled from Melbourne, Corowa, Deniliquin, Oaklands, Coleambally, Finley, Tocumwal, Howlong, Wodonga and Berrigan together with our local Jerilderie talent.
Thank you and well done to the hard working organising committee (John and Gina Simpson, Jenny Pitt and Laurie Blackmore) for their great efforts bringing together a fabulous day.
The committee acknowledged and thanked the many local landholders who generously supported and sponsored the event.
Great to see our Jerilderie players on the results board and taking good advantage of local knowledge in novelty events!

Men’s NTP: 13th Carl Pound (Coly), 10th George Stevenson (Toc).
Ladies’ Longest Drive: 1st Daz Keating (Jer), 2nd Denise Boland (Jer); Ladies’ Straightest Drive: 12th Margo Gregory (Jer).
Ladies’ NTP: 16th Rozie Kennett (Jer), 5th Denise Boland (Jer).
Open NTP: 7th Michael Pitt (Jer) and Open NTP 2nd shot 15th Vene Mitchell (Jer).
Best wishes to Dave Hercus and Di Rutherford who will be travelling to Thurgoona this Sunday to compete in the Golf NSW 2 Person Keno Regional Final Mixed Division.
Rod Dowling and Larry Dowling are also entered to compete in the Men’s Division.
On behalf of our club, we wish both pairs a lot of fun, a great experience and the best of luck.
A great opportunity for our younger golf enthusiasts with our junior golf clinic having started on Monday with 26 registrations.
The program will be running each Monday 5-6pm for five weeks and will cover all facets of the game including putting, chipping, pitching, full swing golf.
The main aim of the program is to provide a safe and fun introduction and golf development program.
Further registrations will be accepted to Sally on 0414 312 388 (text only).
Wednesday golf this week will be medley stableford, 8.30am for 9am tee, Sunday will be Men’s Monthly Medal (putts)/medley stroke (putts), 10am for 10.30am tee.
With our formal golfing season nearing the end, it is the time of year to come together to celebrate a terrific year for our club and players.
All ladies are invited to a brief meeting at the Jerilderie Sports Club on Friday, November 15 at 6pm, followed by presentations and dinner at about 7pm at the Chinese restaurant.
All golfers (ladies, gents, husbands, wives and partners) are welcome to join us for dinner.
Please advise of your attendance, for catering purposes, to ajsleigh@bigpond.com if you would like to stay or attend for dinner.
Berrigan
Saturday’s winner was Chris Cameron (38-3.5-34.5), r/u Tom Walliss (40-5-35).
Tom also won putting with 14.
Ball winners were Brad Vale (50-13-37) and Gail Browne (44-7-37).
Sunday’s winner was Lachlan Whelan with 41 points, r/u Chris Cameron 34 points and ball winners were Joe Nicholls 33 and Neil Graham 32.
Friday tee off time is at 3pm, Saturday 2pm and next Sunday will be stroke teeing off at 12.30pm. All welcome.
Tocumwal
The women’s competition on Tuesday last week was an Irish Four Ball.
Winners were Joan Burns, Linda Foryth, Val Watmore and Pamela Richardson 119; r/u Barbara Clarke, Jill Collins, Jill Loversidge and Mary McMahon 117; 3rd Lynne Parry, Marie Farrell, Gale Tyers and Denise Baldwin 116.
On Wednesday, men played stableford on the Captain’s Course.
A-grade: Shane Halloran 37 c/b Ray Watmore and Trevor McCaw. B-grade: Brett Shaw 39, Ashley Crawford 38, Brian Morgan 37 c/b. C-grade: Scott Barber 43, Stephen Conrick 38, Siggi Rempel 37. D-grade: John Scandrett 39, Ronald Loversidge 37 c/b Billy Greig.
On Saturday the men’s competition was stableford with ideal weather after the rain midweek.
A-grade: Doug Perrett 37 c/b Randall Jakeman, James Orpwood 36. B-grade: Ray Bailey 35, Ryan Ellis 34, Paul Bell 32. C-grade: Peter Cunningham 35 c/b Shayne Austerberry, Colin Galvin 33.
The women also played stableford on Saturday on the president’s course.
A-grade: Julie Penny 34, Leanne Marshall 33 c/b. B-grade: Glenys Ladner 36, Milly Ruigrok 35.
On Sunday the men had their monthly medal event, playing stroke.
Medal winner was Shane Halloran. Nev Finn was Star medallist for 2024, with a great score of 69 net.

Gross: A-grade Peter Taylor 74; B-grade John Bradbury 85; C-grade: John Wilson 95. Mick Cooper scored an eagle on the Captain’s 11th.
The women played stableford on the captain’s course on the Sunday, won by Leanne Marshall 37.
We also held Junior Club Championship over the weekend.
Congratulations to Reuben Haley our 2024 Club Tocumwal Junior Champion with 64 points over two rounds to win from Olivia Thompson.
Finley
Ladies played stableford on Wednesday for trophies from Angela Be Hair.
The winner was Mary Polkinghorne 40 points, r/u Hannah Kelly 37.
NTP: 13th Hannah Kelly; ball comp Helen Wastle 35, Joanne Dean 35, Beth White 34.
Men played stableford on Wednesday.
After a four-way countback on 37, winner was Colin McNamara, r/u Rob Daniel, and ball winners John Taylor and Martin Piggin.
NTP: 18th Leo McNamara.
Thursday’s 9 hole competition winner was John Taylor with 22 points.
Ball comp: Ian Armer and Gai Singleton.
The day turned into a Singleton family benefit when stableford was played for trophies from Finley Newsagency on Saturday.
Women’s winner was Gai Singleton, with son Sam the men’s winner.
NTP: 18th Jacob Smith; 13th Mary Polkinghorne. Ball comp: Leo McNamara 35, Rob Singleton 35, Grant Shaw 34, Janet Delmenico 33.
Carl’s Catch of the Day provided the trophies when stroke was played on Sunday.
Men’s winner was Ian Armer with 69 net and women’s winner was Gai Singleton on 70 net. NTP: 18th Matt Daniel.
