Headlining proceedings was a thrilling O’Dwyer Medal count, which recognises the champion senior footballer of the season, with Nathalia’s Brodie Ross and Tongala’s Nick Jamieson sharing the honour after finishing on 25 votes.
Jamieson found himself two votes clear of Ross and Mulwala’s Jackson Gash leading into the final round, and polled one vote in the Blues’ big win over Finley.
Before a best-on-ground performance by Ross in Nathalia’s round 18 victory over Rumbalara had him equal Jamieson’s tally and take a share of the prized O’Dwyer Medal.
