Benalla speedster Jess Calvert has taken home a swathe of medals at the recent Athletics Victoria Country Championships held during the weekend at Bendigo.

Calvert competed in the 100m, 200m and 400m events, securing a podium finish in all three of her races.
Competing in the under-20 age group this year, Calvert secured bronze in her first finals race, the 100m finals, narrowly missing out to first and second by just millimetres of a second.
She then competed in the 200m finals that afternoon, running a superb race to also take out bronze with a time of 60.49.
Calvert saved the best until last, however, taking out top gong in what looks to be her favourite event, the 200m, in a time of 25.58.
Calvert enjoyed a strong 2021 season and continues to go from strength to strength, with the young-gun picking up two silver medals at the Australian Track and Field Championships last year.
