Despite the home advantage, the Berrigan’s Division 2 pennant team faced a formidable opponent in Cobram.
The match started with Cobram taking an early lead, and despite the Curlews' best efforts, they were unable to close the gap.
The final score stood at 43-64 in favour of Cobram.
Rick Bradbury provided a glimmer of hope for the Curlews, pulling away late to win his rink 19-13.
However, Paul Glanvill and Roger Reynoldson faced tough competition, losing their rinks 11-24 and 13-27, respectively.
While the loss was disappointing, the Curlews can hold their heads high, reflecting on a successful season that took them to within one win of the championship.
As they look ahead to the 2025-26 season, the team is determined to build on this experience and strive for more consistent performances across the board.
The grand finals were a credit to the hard work and commitment of the staff and volunteers of the Berrigan Community Golf and Bowls Club, with the venue proving an excellent showcase for the event.
