Tom Polglaze and Ray Harrison were in third place while Ken Webber and Ernie Salvemini claimed the consolation prize. Ken Webber, Vic Nelson, Malcolm Pretty, Ernie Salvemini, Ian Jennings and Heath Matthews all recorded resting touchers.

MOOROOPNA
Midweek Pennant
Mooroopna played Kyabram at Kyabram and was beaten by seven shots overall.
Mooroopna only had one winning rink, skipped by Lyn Thatcher, which won 30-23 and was ably supported by Dawn Blake, Marilyn Jones and Stewie Florence.
Other scores were B. Nichols 26-31 and M. Florence 19-24.
Better luck next week, folks.
Have you entered the club singles, both women’s and men’s? They close on Friday, November 19 at 5pm when the draw will be done for play on Sunday, November 21.
If you are going to stay for the barbecue lunch, please see Margaret Anderson regarding catering.
The club would love to see a great attendance at the bingo each Wednesday night; come meet your old friends and enjoy an evening out. Eyes down at 7.30pm.
School bowls is going along nicely, and further aid would be appreciated; can you help?
Friday night’s social gathering is seeing a good number of people present, and again the membership draw didn’t go off. Number seven seems not to be lucky for Lindsay Blake, two weeks in a row.
SHEPPARTON GOLF
In club events, Rob Mackay and Paul Ledger will contest the final of the men’s B-grade singles on December 17, after winning their semi-finals on Sunday. In the semi-finals, Rob defeated Glenn Cartwright, and Paul came out on top against Les Norton.
The final will be played as a twilight event on December 17, with the A-grade men’s and women’s singles to be played on the same evening.
Two rounds of the men’s A-grade singles will be played next Sunday, with 26 players entered. The play-by date for round one of the women’s A-grade singles is also this Sunday.
One-on-one personal coaching is available from coach Brad Orr. Members wanting personal coaching should write their name in their desired timeslot on the sheet which is in the glass cabinet located outside the clubrooms.
MERRIGUM
On Saturday the pennant team received a forfeit from Shepparton Golf which could not find enough players to make up a game. This was disappointing because the club had everything prepared, but surely didn’t miss standing out in that cold wind all afternoon.
Last Tuesday Merrigum began its midweek pennant and had a narrow two-point win against Shepparton Golf. The rink of Joe Chant, Wayne Shepherd, Noreen Earl and Lee Chant had a good win by 14 shots against the rink skipped by D. Fallon. This was in spite of dropping a six on the third end. All players made a contribution to the win and the game was played in a very friendly fashion.
John Firmer lost by two shots to Bruce Giovanetti and Gary Mott went down by 10 shots to K. Cooper.
Please make sure you book your meal on Thursday night as this makes it much easier to cater for. Meal starts at 6pm and the new cost is $10 for members and visitors. Thanks to all those good people who bring along a salad each week.
The hamper is progressing very well. Please make sure you have your book; extra books can be obtained from Lee Chant. Donations for the hamper would be greatly appreciated.
The club has taken delivery of the new “super” probe that gives the green keeper the much needed information about the condition of the green.
On December 18 the pizza night will be held as usual to finish off for Christmas and the hampers will also be drawn. The cost of the pizza night is $10.
EAST SHEPPARTON

The drawn team winner last week went to Wannabb’s.
In last Saturday’s pennant results, division one had a loss to Euroa with only Geoff Beattie’s rink having a win, 23-20, although all rinks were very close games. This week’s game against Kyabram is a must-win. Division two had a very good win against Mooroopna Golf with David Downs’ rink winning 39-16 and Kevin Cox’s rink winning 24-22.
The John Crozier and Allan Hueston rinks both had draws. In division three Gary Lovell’s rink had a big win, 27-16, but not enough to compensate for the other three rink losses.
Division five Ron Le Lievre’s team 25-2, Gilbert Dalle Nagore 28-17 and Eric Cooke 41-16. Division six also won overall, Rob Dodds 32-22, Ron Cooper 24-20 and Barry McRae a draw 22-all.
Tuesday’s pennant events had some very positive results: division one G. Barber 28-16, S. Collier 34-14, J. Delminico 37-17, overall win 92 to 47; division three (-): K. Cox 29-23, P. Hueston 20-20, J. Michielin 42-12, with a win 82-67; division three (2): G. Dalle Nagore 36-15, K. Pregnell 20-24, V. Le Lievre 26-28, a win overall 91-55; division four: H. Adderly 23-31, B. Sutton 29-18, R. Le Lievre 14-31.
Midweek training is still on today at 4pm prior to the Saturday players’ training session which commences at 5pm. The weekend teams practice will commence at 5pm; all players must be double vaccinated for pennant and social games.
Monday bowls is now off and running, phone Kevin Cox on 0439 332 268 or Dennis Galt on 0407 845 767. The event will be played starting at 10.30am, names in prior to 10am or on the list on the noticeboard prior to Monday. Proof of vaccination will be required, and there will be a COVID-19 marshall to check players on arrival. With the better weather from now on, come and enjoy a great day’s bowling as a pair; single entries are also accepted.
Last Monday’s winners were Jack Dell and David Downs; runners-up Bill Taylor and Tony Kingma; consolation prize went to Ray Murdoch and Stan Pregnell.
Club events: Most events are on the noticeboard so check your draw and get your games played as soon as you can. We don’t want the usual rush when the event date to have your games completed is reached.
The Christmas party is on after Thursday practice on December 16, 6.30pm for a barbecue etc. Cost is $10, children free. A list is on the outside board to give the organising committee an idea for catering.
