After finally being able to play their first match of the season due to the first month being washed out, a workmanlike bowling performance and a superb century by Matt Casey enabled a big first-up win for Yarrawonga Mulwala over Delatite.

The Lakers were on top from the start and bowled consistent line and length to restrict Delatite to 8 for 90 from their 40-overs.
Casey struck 11 fours and two towering sixes at the Stan Hargreaves Oval Yarrawonga in a brilliant 104 not out from 140 balls in the Lakers’ final total of 3 for 182 after their 40 overs.
The Stan Hargreaves Oval was in great condition considering the amount of rain over the past months and the wicket was a great credit to curator Matt McCabe who has worked hard to get a wicket up to standard.
YMCC Captain Reid Clarke won the toss and elected to bowl in good conditions for cricket.

YMCC debuted three players and all played their roles and showed they were at the standard.
The debutants were Jobe Fraser, Ben Kennedy and Jacob Bartlett.
Rory Bartlett led the way taking 3 for 18 off 8 overs, while debutant Ben Kennedy took 2 for 15 off 4 overs including a wicket in his first over.
Matt McCabe was miserly to have 1 for 5 off 5 overs and James Irvine in his return to the YMCC had figures of 1 for 13 off 4 overs.
Jobe Fraser on debut had 0 for 11 off 4 overs of spin, Angus McMillan 0 for 16 off 8 overs and debutant Jacob Bartlett 0 for 9 off 7 overs.
After the tea interval, the YMCC took to the batting crease and controlled the game from the first ball with Reid Clarke and Matt Casey scoring freely.
The pair shared in a 99-run partnership guiding the Lakers past the victory target with Clarke making 30 from 69 balls before he was dismissed.
Jobe Fraser joined Casey and continued to dominate the Delatite attack. Fraser looked at home at A Grade level scoring with strong attacking shots including a massive 6 in his 22 from 35 balls before being dismissed with the score at 2 for 165.
While the wickets fell, Casey built a superb innings and with Kyle Archibald coming to the crease Casey brought up his fifth A Grade century for the Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club.
The YMCC A Grade head to Ovens Valley this Saturday for their next clash, with the venue to be decided as McNamara Reserve in Myrtleford is adversely affected by the recent weather with rain and issues during the football season.
