Blighty’s under-14s football team have a familiar face returning for their head coaching role for the 2025 season, while a new coach will take charge of the under-17s.

Welcomed to the club to coach the under-17s is Phil Randall.
“Phil started coaching and assistant coaching junior football in 2018 where his son played with Newborough Junior Football Club,” the club said.
“He enjoyed coaching under-14s to under-16s, up until 2022.
“During those years, the teams competed in finals, also managing to win a premiership at under-16s level.
“Phil is super excited to come on as the Blighty thirds coach.
“He is looking forward to meeting everyone, pulling on the boots and putting in the hard yards for what will be an amazing season.”
The fourths footballers will continue to learn from Jim Macdonald in the 2025 season.
Macdonald was at the helm for the fourths this year, and his continuation as the coach is expected to help the ongoing development of junior footballers at Blighty.
“Jim is passionate about the development of kids sport in our community, building their confidence and skills to ensure love of the game,” the club said.
“Jim is a valued member of our club, community and a well-respected coach.”
Having valued members of the community like Jim and Phil, who want to take on these coaching roles in netball or football, is important for the players and their development.
Given the right opportunities and an environment to grow, we may see an AFL or AFLW player coming out of Blighty Football Netball Club in the near future.
