Starting with one leftover Under-12 Junior Presentation for Serenity Donoghue, teams were quickly chosen and positions decided.
Yellow team scored quickly, with some fast play by Isaac King assisted by brother Carter. After another goal, the half-time team chat was all about positioning.
Orange was determined to score, and with some more cohesive teamwork, they managed to pass around Yellow and Cael Johnston tapped one in past the defence.
Yellow also improved their passing, and with another goal ended the night winning 3:1. All enjoyed a barbecue and donated fruit from Coles Benalla.
“Benalla Hockey has had a fantastic year, with lots of juniors and some senior wins over in Shepparton,” president Lee Manning said
“We’d like to thank all of our volunteers, and also our great local sponsors for all of their support: Ultimate Heating and Cooling, Spot 4 Ice Cream, Nutrien, Bridgestone, Sportspower, North East Life, Coles, Living Here, Schneider Electric and Fobia.”
The Benalla Hockey Club would like to wish all players and families a great Christmas and holiday break. Hockey will start again on Thursday, March 2, with a Come and Try afternoon for all ages starting at 4.30pm.
