In her third game for the Blues, Skepper gathered an eye-catching 14 disposals, contributing to a team-high 384m gained, while also laying three tackles.
The 18-year-old was selected with Carlton’s first pick at the 2022 AFLW Draft and has burst onto the scene, chalking up another 14 disposals and a goal against Essendon in round two.
Skepper said the nomination had given her renewed confidence at an early stage of the season.
“It is really exciting to get this nomination and it gives me confidence to keep moving forward with my game,” she said.
“The entire club has been so welcoming since day one and it only makes you want to work harder when you’re surrounded by people who are dedicated to what they do.
“I want to thank the entire program for their support and I’m keen to keep improving and honing my craft throughout the rest of the season.”
Carlton general manager of women’s football Brett Munro said the nomination was just the beginning for the Blues’ young gun.
“It is wonderful to see Keeley acknowledged for the outstanding start to her career,” Munro said.
“She had a brilliant debut and has backed that up with strong and consistent performances over the past two weeks, which has led to this nomination.
“Her enthusiasm is infectious and the way she applies herself in every session makes those around her want to work harder.
“We’re proud of what Keeley has shown in just three games at AFLW level and look forward to watching her skills progress even more over the coming weeks.”
