The Van Roys, Tuckers and Tylers made up more than a third of the Tongala reserves premiership side that saluted back-to-back triumphs on Saturday.
Liam and Todd Van Roy lined up alongside Shannon, Callum and Jayden Tucker, with Jayden slotting the sealing goal late in the game.
Sam Tyler is Tongala’s skipper, while brother Matt was a key figure in the one-goal victory over Moama with three off his own boot. James rounds out the Tyler trio.
Matt was happy to do his bit for the team when a positional shift was required, one of very few forays forward for him.
“We needed a bit of a change-up and I was swung forward,” he said.
“I was happy I was able to pull through. It was a good win for the guys.”
While it’s a special moment to line up alongside family in a premiership win, Matt is aware there are those who were unlucky to miss out on the day.
“We had a few boys miss out on a place in the side, so it’s a bit hard, but hopefully we can come back next year and do it for them,” he said.
