The last time we came up against Bonnie Doon, we walked away with a 40-goal loss. Today the girls showed how much they have improved in the past seven rounds. Although we didn't come away with the win, we worked hard for four quarters and were happy with the 16-goal loss.
Heidi O'Halloran was firing in GA, shooting 18 of our 21 goals. Eliza Sammon and Grace Cooke had the difficult task on the Bonnie Doons shooters. After some coaching direction from Keeley Sheehan, they spent the next three quarters keeping them a little quieter and creating alot of turnovers.
Overall the whole team worked well together and we are super excited to head to Melbourne on the school holidays for a three-day netball camp.
Awards: Heidi O'Halloran, Eliza Sammon, Grace Cooke.
Score: All Blacks 21 lost to Bonnie Doon 37.

B-reserve
With a few girls out due to illness, we knew the game would be a tough one. The girls went out strong to celebrate Mel Reapers 350th game. However, Bonnie Doon was far too tall and strong for us once again.
Courtney Sammon and Mel Reaper once again demonstrated their strength in the ring, moving beautifully together and with accurate goals, earning them spots in the best this week. Chloe Dods was moved from her usual defence position into centre for four quarters and played as if she’d spent the past 11 rounds in that position, absolutely dominating with her defence and attack throughout the court, earning her best on this week.
Jess Stocker once again showed her strength throughout mid-court, and Grace Pastuszka worked on tight defence and got intercepts throughout the game — both demonstrating continued and impressive improvement each week.
Keeley Sheehan and Renae Hughes put up a continued fight throughout the games entirety, making it as hard as possible for the defenders, making them earn every score they shot. Overall, the girls came into this game much stronger than the last time we faced each other, demonstrating how much the team has improved.
Awards: Chloe Dods, Mel Reaper, Courtney Sammon.
Score: All Blacks 29 lost to Bonnie Doon 54
Milestone: Mel Reaper celebrates her 350th game.
B-grade
B-grade had a tough game against Bonnie Doon, knowing their height is always hard to beat for us as we are a shorter team. The girls did a great job at sticking within reach of Bonnie Doon for the first half.
Elyse Felstead played a solid half in goals before being needed in the defence end for her height where she continued to play a great game, earning her best on for the day. Ashlea McDonald had a great game in goal-keeper and wing defence, gaining intercepts and sticking on her player well. She is a key player who brings the ball out of defence, was also named in the best.
Our mid-court was solid in contesting balls and attacking any loose ball. Kellie Holmes was also named in the best as she dominated in the mid-court. The girls made their coach proud this week having made changes to their play against Bonnie Doon, however, unfortunately, still didn't manage to come away with the win.
The A-grade side was coming off its first loss for the season last week and were hoping to come away with a good win against Bonnie Doon, but unfortunately with injuries still affecting the side, we just missed out.
Score at full-time being Benalla 29 to Bonnie Doon 30. With numerous intercepts for the game and especially the last quarter saw Elizabeth Fuhrmeister come away with best on for the game in wing defence. Also in the best shutting down their goalers was Olivia Cavicchiolo playing a full game in goal defence.
Gertie McCallum played a great game in centre the whole game with that pressure all the way down the court and feeding into the circle. We know we can play better and are excited to get our two key goalers back on the court against North Wang. It will be a good week to reflect on the first half of our season and push forward towards securing our position in the top six ready for finals.
Awards: Elizabeth Fuhrmeister, Olivia Cavicchiolo
Score: Bonnie Doon 30 d Benalla 29
Winding up: Elizabeth Fuhrmeister looks for a pass.
