Foley, who was stand-in skipper for Adelaide in the decider, finished the match on the bench with her knee heavily iced.
Foley left the field in the third quarter with a knee injury after landing awkwardly in a marking contest and scans have since confirmed the 32-year-old will have to have surgery to repair her left ACL.
Crows’ head of women’s football, Phil Harper, said the club would do everything to assist Foley over the coming months.
“Ange is a highly respected leader, teammate and friend and we are devastated for her,” Harper said.
“She will now meet with the surgeon and is expected to undergo an operation in the coming week.
“The club is right behind her and we will support her every step of her rehab journey.”
Benalla's Becky Webster has been recognised for her outstanding season by being named in the AFLW's 22 under 22, the acknowledgement putting her amongst the best young players under 22 in the competition.
Webster averaged 15.1 disposals, 2.4 marks, 2.8 tackles and 241.4m gained from nine matches, including a career high 24 disposals and eight marks against St Kilda in round four.
Her career best figures gained her a rising star nomination.
In AFL multiple Goulburn Valley exports can begin to clear their September schedules.
Kialla export Alex Keath and the Western Bulldogs are undefeated after five rounds to begin the season and sit atop the ladder.
The Bulldogs bullied Gold Coast Suns at Marvel Stadium on Saturday and clinched a 17.16 (118) to 8.8 (56) win.
Keath, a key defender, collected a surprising 20 disposals down back — along with his nine marks and seven spoils.
Kyabram's Nick Holman (19 disposals) and Mooroopna's Jarrod Harbrow (18) battled hard for the Suns.
Just like Keath and his Bulldogs, Mooroopna product Clayton Oliver and his Melbourne teammates remain undefeated.
Oliver had a truckload of disposals (30) and seven inside 50s as Melbourne powered past Hawthorn by 50 points.
Seymour product David Mundy continues to show no signs of slowing down.
Mundy had 28 disposals, four marks, eight tackles, six clearances and a goal and was described by Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks as a "migraine" after Fremantle's 11.6 (72) to 12.12 (84) win over the Crows.
Mundy's coach Justin Longmuir was also full of praise for the 337-game veteran post-match.
“Our supporters understand that he has been a very good player for a long period of time — the rest of the competition is catching up now,” Longmuir said.
“The way he is invested off the field in our young players and what we're trying to do, he has become like a second coach-mentor for our younger players.
“I am just proud that he has been able to perform the way he does on the field because it just complements what he's doing off the field.”
Shepparton's Jordy Butts worked overtime in defence for the Crows and finished with 17 disposals.
Invergordon talent Lachie Ash helped GWS deliver arch-rival Sydney Swans their first loss of the season.
Ash gathered 18 touches in the thrilling 9.17 (71) to 10.9 (69) win.
On Sunday evening, Mooroopna export Jy Simpkin was one of North Melbourne's top performers in the five-goal loss to Geelong.
Simpkin collected 24 touches, a whopping 32 pressure acts and seven inside 50s in the loss.
Port Adelaide enjoyed a comfortable win over Carlton at the MCG on Sunday.
Katamatite's Tom Clurey (16 disposals, four intercept marks), Echuca's Ollie Wines (32 disposals) and Deniliquin's Todd Marshall (two goals) led the way for the Power in the 28-point win.
