Coming into our semi-final against a strong Katandra side, we knew we had our work cut out for us but playing our best netball we knew would be enough to get the job done.
A strong first quarter in windy conditions left us one goal behind at the first break.
The second quarter was again tightly contested and we went into the half-time break one goal up.
Our third quarter was a great one and we played our style of patient netball and entered the last quarter with a two-goal lead.
A massive team effort in the last quarter allowed us to get the win by a goal.
Goalers played a strong contested game, with our mid court providing patience and excellent drives. Our defence provided our attackers with extra opportunities that they capitalised on.
Overall a great team game and a well-deserved win.

Won 28-49
Warm conditions in Picola for our semi-final against Tocumwal.
We knew we had to come out hard and strong — and that we did. Our first quarter was awesome, we kept Toc to just a couple of goals. Our goalers shot beautifully and we entered the first break 17-2.
From there we could work on our set plays, transitioning from defence to attack and converting. Being such a hot day, we were able to use our bench and rotate through for fresh legs to finish off winning 28-49.
Everyone played their roles, what a great team game. Well done Doggies, off to a prelim on Sunday at Yarroweyah against the Bombers!

Didn’t we bring it! Ladies, you should all be bloody proud of the way you played on Saturday!
For a team plagued with injuries (didn’t even have an uninjured seven to take the court) you definitely gave Katandra a run for their money and could see them panicking with all their rolling subs.
You left everything on the court. You fought hard all game. It was tight and contested, and you were consistent with passes, defensive pressure, swishing the goals and the way you moved the ball down the court.
Unfortunately we didn’t get over the line in the end, but we’re going to come back bigger and better next year.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors, Payne and Brooks families, Manto Produce, Indulge Beauty, D’Vine Ideas, Premix King and Strathmerton Railway Hotel for all your support and supplying our weekly awards.
Shout out to our coaches, Liv and Nomes, for a great year! You took 12 netballers and turned them into a team.
Rest up those injuries in the off season.
See you all next year. Go Doggies!

Fourths
How proud we are of our mighty fourths. We travelled to Picola and came up against the home team in what was the first semi-final for most players.
We knew it wasn’t going to be easy but our Strathy Bulldogs all went out and gave it a real good crack. Our younger players stood up and contested every ball.
Derek kicked a great goal for the team but Picola were far too big and strong and unfortunately our fourths are finished for another year.
But we are so proud of everyone of them. Big thank you to Tim, who guides and mentors these young kids to make them better footballers in the future.
Mick Keane for multitasking, taking on the fourths as well as president for our club! Wendy and Coops, best team managers, always there to help out and deliver the clean sparkling jumpers week in and week out.
Stevie and Speedy umpiring for us, it’s such a great help. Each and every parent doing the hard yards to get the kids to training, and all our game day volunteers.
We look forward to 2025 and going even further into the finals with this amazing group of kids.
