Mooroopna product Clayton Oliver bolstered his chance of claiming this year's Brownlow Medal with another best afield performance in Melbourne's stirring after-the-siren win over Geelong at the weekend.
The Dees, down by six goals at three-quarter time in the final-round encounter, charged home to win by four points and seal the club's first minor premiership since 1964.
Oliver was damaging in the midfield and finished with 37 disposals, two goals, nine clearances, seven tackles and seven inside 50s.
Oliver will be back in action on Saturday night as the Demons head to Adelaide Oval to take on Brisbane Lions in their qualifying final clash.
Finley product Tom Hawkins will join illustrious company on Friday night.
The talented Geelong key forward will become the sixth Cat to notch 300 games in the qualifying final against Port Adelaide.
Hawkins, who claimed the 2020 Coleman Medal, has enjoyed another strong year on the field.
With 54 goals to his name this season, Hawkins is in line to add to his tally of All-Australian honours on Thursday when the team is announced after being selected in the squad of 40.
“I honestly do (think I've got a lot of football ahead of me),” Hawkins said at a press conference during the week.
“I'm in a privileged position where I'm in my 15th season and I'm going into my 14th year of finals to be able to represent this club that puts us in the best possible shape (to contend).
“You could arguably look back on the last 10 years and we haven't been able to win a premiership, but we get given a chance every year.”
Invergordon export Lachie Ash is gearing up for his first crack at AFL finals.
The 2018 Shepparton premiership player is set to line-up for GWS in this weekend's elimination final against Sydney.
Ash had 15 disposals in the Giants’ 14-point triumph over Carlton last week.
Echuca's Ollie Wines led from the front in Port Adelaide's exhilarating comeback win over the Western Bulldogs.
Wines, who is one of the favourites for the Brownlow Medal, gathered 34 disposals and kicked a goal in the Power's thrilling two-point win.
Kialla's Alex Keath, Mooroopna's Laitham Vandermeer and Seymour's Josh Schache are in line to play for the Western Bulldogs in Sunday's elimination final against Essendon.
