Community sport has been sidelined for a further seven days after the Victorian Government announced Tuesday the initial five-day statewide snap lockdown would be extended by a week.
It comes after a total of 13 new cases were recorded today, the lockdown now set to lift at 11.59pm on Tuesday.
This forces all indoor and outdoor sport to hold fast, despite the possibility of a return to play this weekend.
Some of the region’s affected sports include football, netball, hockey, soccer, basketball and golf.
The AFL Goulburn Murray leagues, Shepparton District Junior Football League, Bendigo Amateur Soccer League, Shepparton Junior Soccer Association, Shepparton Netball Association and Big V basketball are some of the competitions that will have another forced weekend off.
The ramifications for all of their respective fixtures will become clearer in the coming days.
