Although Victoria was plunged into a fifth lockdown on Friday, bowlers competing in the series on the Apple Isle had already made their way to Burnie for the event.
But following Olivia Cartwright's open-age debut — and Brad Orr's return to the state team — the Tasmanian Government readjusted its restriction advice, forcing the cancellation of the remainder of proceedings.

“As a result of the announcement from Department of Health Tasmania late yesterday regarding the new restrictions around anyone in Tasmania having arrived in the state since July 8th, the Tasmania vs Victoria Test series has been abandoned,” Bowls Tasmania posted to Facebook on Saturday morning.
“Bowls Tasmania would like to thank Bowls Victoria and their players for their understanding and co-operation, and the Burnie Bowls Club for their fantastic hosting of the event and their assistance.”

Playing under skipper Kylie Whitehead, Tatura-Hill Top star Cartwright's rink won its morning clash 21-13.
Shepparton Golf coach Orr played as a second for Nathan Bush — with Katamatite product Curt Hanley leading — and went down 21-26.

The Victorian men won the afternoon Test — with the Tasmanian women also tasting victory — but with the series declared a draw the Big V squad retained the trophy.
“The experience of playing with Victoria's best against the likes of Rebecca Van Asch and Tassie's best is what I have always dreamt of,” Cartwright said.
“Leading for Kylie Whitehead was a privilege and playing next to Carla Krizanic.
“Unfortunately playing only two Tests for the weekend was challenging, I am looking forward to the next one whenever that may be.”
