The history and culture of indigenous Australians will be celebrated and recognised on Saturday at all seven matches.
All 15 clubs will don specially designed indigenous guernseys and dresses, while an acknowledgement of country and a one-minute silence will be held before each senior match.
The feature game will be held at Undera Recreation Reserve between Undera and Dookie United.
The league thanked the support from Tracy Hardie and Hume Dhelk Dja for continuing to implement the round — which has grown each year since Ardmona and Tallygaroopna held an Indigenous match in 2018.
“This day raises awareness of Aboriginal culture and adds to raising the profile of the KDL and all its affiliated clubs,” a league spokesperson said.
“Prior to the commencement of all senior games, an acknowledgement to country will be read followed by one minute's silence.
“The assistance and support offered by Tracy Hardie and Hume Dhelk Dja has been invaluable in implementing and continually improving the KDL Indigenous Round.
“The feature game of the round will see Undera hosting Dookie United at Undera Recreation Reserve.
“All clubs will be wearing their indigenous apparel on the day. The players judged best-on-ground and best-on-court in both football and netball will be presented with an indigenous football, indigenous netball or a Hume Dhelk Dja drink bottle respectively.”
● The upcoming round of matches shapes up to be a blockbuster weekend of classic encounters.
The round is highlighted by two top-six hit-outs and another important bout involving seventh-placed Violet Town.
It will be third versus fourth at Nagambie Recreation Reserve when the Lakers welcome Stanhope.
Further down the Goulburn River, Murchison-Toolamba (fifth) plays host to Merrigum (sixth).
Tied on 32 points, expect a close encounter between the two challengers.
Meanwhile, Violet Town will be gunning to deliver ladder-leader Lancaster its first loss of the campaign.
Lastly, Tallygaroopna and Ardmona will be chasing their second wins of the season when they do battle on Saturday.
Both sides have one victory in 2021, but the Bush Cats sit ahead of Tally on the ladder — due to already receiving points for their two byes.
Undera will fancy its chances at home against Dookie United and the same can be said for Shepparton East which hosts Girgarre.
Avenel plays host to Rushworth, while Longwood gets a chance to charge the batteries with the bye.
