Seymour brushed aside the disappointment of its loss to Shepparton United a fortnight ago to record an emphatic 52-29 win over Shepparton on Saturday.
The Lions’ stunning second half blitz helped orchestrate the round 10 triumph on a cold and wintry day at Kings Park.
Seymour - spearheaded by versatile option Rosie O'Sullivan - piled on 34 goals to 15 after half time to blow the Bears out of the water.
It was a clinical performance from the Lions, who follow on from their six-goal victory over the Bears in round six.
Seymour's coach Ronni Hager was proud of the effort from her squad, crediting their hard work on the training track for the mesmerising performance.
“I was very pleased with the result. It was a really solid performance,” she said.
“We were pretty disappointed with our performance against United. We walked away with our tails between our legs.
“But there were signs against Bears that we are starting to find our feet again. We moved the ball quite well and defended strongly. It is nice to see the girls are getting reward for their hard work.”
A tight tussle in the opening half saw the home side hold a slim four-goal buffer at the main break.
A swap in combinations, with O'Sullivan shifted to the mid-court from goals, was the catalyst for Seymour in breaking the game open.
Defenders Sarah Szczykulski and Nakita Singe were also standouts in the win for nullifying the visitors’ attacking runs.
And in more positive news for the Lions, goaler Jess Lallo returned to the court after missing a fair chunk of time due to injury.
“Rosie is such a versatile player. We swapped her from goals to wing-attack and she just provided some spark,” Hager said.
“And both Nakita and Sarah give the girls that confidence to play an attacking style because they know they can trust them to deliver.”
Erin Scott, Tanner Edwards and Ash Cann flew the flag for Shepparton.
The outcome on Saturday could prove a decisive result for the remainder of both teams’ seasons.
Seymour jumps into fourth spot on the ladder with a game in hand.
But it's a lot gloomier for the Bears, who remain locked in seventh spot behind Tatura.
● In the weekend's other game, Mooroopna flexed its muscles against Rochester.
Mooroopna handed the Tigers a 58-15 drubbing, one that sees them leap into second spot on the ladder.
Dayna Williams was judged best-on-court for the Cats, while Shelby Britten and Bree Hanslow rounded out the better players.
A ruthless 21-2 final term from Mooroopna capped off what was a memorable day for the home side.
