After the women's series had been staged earlier in the year, it was time for the men's squads to go head-to-head with pride on the line.
And after five games it was Country which reigned supreme, taking victory in the first four clashes before City saved face with a win in the final match.
Shepparton Golf coach Brad Orr, teammate David Daws, Tatura-Hill Top's David Cartwright and Tallygaroopna's Mark Ryan were prominent players in the Country squad.
Also among the winners were Rochester product Cam Keenan, Katamatite export Curt Hanley and familiar Benalla faces Tim, Tyson and Koby Cromie.
● Players have also been competing at the Australian Open in Queensland recently.
The tournament had to dodge various coronavirus lockdowns and restrictions to forge ahead, with a few familiar faces among the ranks when the dust settled.
Tatura-Hill Top's Olivia Cartwright made a dashing run in the under-18 girls’ singles, winning her section in undefeated fashion and then falling at the penultimate hurdle in a thrilling semi-final.
Cartwright lost 21-19 to Kate Argent-Bowden in the semi-final contest after holding the match before her opponent flipped the script with what was the final bowl of the match.
Argent-Bowden went on to the win the final.
Mooroopna Golf's Lee Wakenshaw, Shepparton Park's Di Hands and Kate Bush, Barooga's Brett Wright and Tocumwal Golf's Chris Philpot were also among the Open action.
Former East Shepparton coach Josh Thornton also managed to taste success on the Gold Coast in the multi-disability men's singles event.
