The Tigers — without star midfielder Nathan Marrone — booted six goals to three in the rampant second term which helped orchestrate the 25-point triumph over the Bulldogs at Moon Oval.
The classy round nine win catapults Rochester inside the Goulburn Valley League top six for the first time this year.
Despite dominating much of the first quarter, evident through the nine scoring shots, Rochester held a slender five-point lead at quarter-time.
A superb goal from Chaz Sargeant kept the away side within touch, but once proceedings kicked off in the second term, Rochester lifted the intensity a notch.
Led by an eye-catching effort from Liam Bartels (four goals), the Tigers piled on five unanswered goals which put the result beyond doubt.
Tatura, which was without star midfielder Nick Fothergill due to a head knock received in the second term, was able to peg back the score with three majors late in the term.
But the damage — a 25-point lead at the main break — was already done.
Rochester, which may have unearthed a new gem in debutant Chris Jansen, was able to grind out the important win in a second half that only provided five goals.
Jansen was rewarded for his brilliance with a best afield nod, while teammates Andrew Henderson, Nathan McCarty and coach Steven Stroobants (four goals) provided strong contributions.
For the Bulldogs, Tom Sullivan continued with his impressive season and earned himself another best-on performance.
Sargeant (four goals) was a shining light in attack, while on-baller Mitch Elliott and talented swingman Brad Ryan (one) rounded out the better players.
